Music City USA - live country music, honky-tonks, and Southern hospitality.
You won’t want to miss out on all the amazing things Nashville has to offer. From its vibrant music scene to its mouth-watering barbecue, this city has something for everyone who loves to explore. Known as the ‘Music City’ and the ‘Bachelorette Party Capital’, Nashville truly lives up to its reputation. I spent a whole week here and every day was filled with new and exciting experiences. Even then, I felt like there were still hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Music is undoubtedly the number one recommendation for a visit to Nashville. You’ll be amazed by the incredible variety of music options available for you to enjoy day and night. Although I’m not typically a fan of country music, I was pleasantly surprised by how much talent there was every night and how much I genuinely enjoyed it. It can always be quite challenging to suggest particular places when there are numerous options and choices along the main street of Nashville (Broadway Street). However, we had an amazing time and experience at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. With its 3 different stages, 3 floors, and 3 bar options you’ll be entertained all night long. This venue provides opportunities for emerging country singers to showcase their talent, as well as well as performances by country music legends, offering a taste of all country music styles to suit your preferences.
If you’re a fan of entertainment and looking for a unique experience that combined thrilling comedy with a city tour, then you’re in for a treat with our next recommendation for Nashville. The ‘Redneck Comedy Bus Tour’ offers an unforgettable adventure filled with laughter, so be prepared to bring your sense of humour along. What sets this our apart is that while you explore the sights and sounds of Nashville, you’ll also be treated to hilarious jokes and funny moments throughout the day. The guide and driver are absolutely amazing, taking the time to connect with each person on the tour and even throwing in a few playful jabs if you happen to say something funny. Lasting around 2 hours, this laughter-filled journey comes at a reasonable price of $40 (USD) per person. To secure your spot and join the redneck gang for an unforgettable adventure, be sure to book in advance. Trust me, this is an experience you won’t want to miss out on!
America is full of amazing shopping outlets and every time I visit, I end up with suitcases bursting at the seams. And let me tell you, ‘Opry Mills’ shopping outlet is an absolute must-visit when you visit Nashville. I managed to get some unbelievable discounts during my time there; it could’ve been because I visited during a public holiday, so if you plan it well, you’re in for a treat. With around 175 stores, Opry Mills is the largest shopping mall in Nashville. You can easily spend the whole day exploring your favourite stores and leave with your hands full of shopping bags. Don’t forget to check out the General Jackson Showboat which is docked just outside Opry Mills for an additional activity adventure, but make sure to set aside another day for this.
If you’re seeking another unique adventure, be sure to include the ‘Wildhorse Saloon’ in your must-visit places. In my opinion, it is the ultimate spot for live music and dancing enthusiasts. Not only does it offer restaurant food and a vibrant bar atmosphere, but it also showcases live performances and provides line dancing lessons to the public throughout the week. I couldn’t help but give it a try myself, and as a beginner, I found it incredibly easy to grasp and follow. That’s why I highly recommend this place for an ultimate experience and coming away with a new skill!
View here →If you’re seeking an upgrade in the realm of country music and live performances, look no further than the Grand Ole Opry. Witness country music icons, up-and-coming talents, and the hottest tracks currently dominating the charts. With approximately 8 different artist gracing the stage for a two-hour live extravaganza, the experience is akin to attending a music festival. The venue itself is quite impressive, accommodating up to 4,372 attendees, and you have the freedom to select your preferred seating when booking the tickets. If this piques your interest, don’t delay in securing your tickets as this event is highly sought after and tends to sell out quickly. Ticket prices may vary based on the chosen date and seating options.
View here →Let’s switch gears for a moment. If you’re a sports enthusiast, you absolutely cannot miss the chance to attend an NFL, ice hockey or basketball event in Nashville. Fortunately, I had the perfect timing to witness an epic NFL game during my time here. It was an absolutely amazing day, immersing myself in the vibrant sports culture that they have in America. The atmosphere was electric, with talented athletes showcasing their skills, enthusiastic fans, and the spirited cheerleaders. Everyone was passionate about supporting their team and participating in all the activities throughout the day. And, of course, I made sure to sample the delicious half time food options.
