COPENHAGEN

Since I hadn't done much research before arriving, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. But it turns out, Denmark has a lot in common with other European countries I’ve visited. In fact, when I first arrived in Copenhagen, I almost felt like I was in Holland with all the bikes and canals around! The city is incredibly bike-friendly, so getting around is a breeze. If you're up for a more immersive experience, a bike tour is a fantastic way to explore, which is exactly what I decided to do. There are plenty of options available, but I went with a great one I found on GetYourGuide. It ticked all the boxes—an engaging tour guide, a wealth of knowledge, and a nice bit of physical activity to keep you moving during your trip! As you know, I love staying active while traveling, and this was the perfect way to do it. The tour lasts around 3 hours and costs about €48 EUR), though there are shorter and more affordable options if you prefer something a bit different.

Let’s not also forget walking tours which are a fantastic way to dive into the heart of a city. With their blend of entertainment and humour, these tours offer so much more than just a glimpse of the sights—you’ll be truly immersed in the city’s story. Free walking tours are a great way to gauge the experience, and you can tip based on how much you enjoyed and learned. Typically, tips range from £10-£20 GBP, but if the tour is exceptional, feel free to give more! During my 2 days of exploring Copenhagen, I averaged 25-30,000 steps a day, so be sure to pack your walking shoes to make the most of this immersive experience!

Discover one moment at a time
As I mentioned earlier, the canals are a major highlight of Copenhagen, and you can’t visit without experiencing a canal tour. During my stay in August, I was fortunate to have perfect weather, which made exploring the city in the sunshine even more magical. Everything looked so much more vibrant, and it was a real treat to relax by the water at the end of the tour, soaking up the sun. The tour lasts about an hour and offers a comprehensive guided experience. One tip—these tours fill up fast, so be sure to buy your tickets in advance to make sure you don’t miss out!
If you're a solo traveller looking to truly dive into the heart of Danish cuisine, why not embark on a pastry crawl? Yes, you heard that right! This guided tour takes you to some of the most acclaimed bakeries in Copenhagen, where you can indulge in mouthwatering Nordic pastries and sip on a perfect cup of hot coffee. It's an unforgettable experience where you'll not only taste the best pastries but also learn about the rich history of Denmark’s pastry culture. The tour lasts around 2.5 hours, offering 3-4 delicious pastries, one coffee, and a private guide to share insights along the way.
Of course, as with most tours, there’s a price to pay for quality, but remember—it’s all about the experience! Travel is about creating memories, and sometimes, investing a little extra ensures you get the most out of your adventure. After all, life’s too short not to savor every moment—and every pastry! :)

Unique Experiences
Climbing the tower of Vor Frelsers Kirke (Church of Our Saviour) is an unforgettable experience that combines history, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views. As you ascend the spiral staircase, each step brings you closer to an incredible journey through time—passing through narrow, winding corridors and observing the intricate design of the tower. The ascent itself is an adventure, with each level offering unique perspectives of Copenhagen’s charming rooftops and canals. At the top, the reward is worth every step. The panoramic views from the tower are nothing short of spectacular. From this lofty height, you’ll be treated to sweeping vistas of the city, including the iconic harbour, the colourful buildings of Nyhavn, and even the distant green parks and waterways. The sensation of standing at the top of this architectural marvel, with the wind in your hair and the city sprawling beneath you, is truly epic. It’s the perfect spot to pause, reflect, and capture one of Copenhagen’s most inspiring views!
